Wailing Winemakers!!!!!

It was a hoe down! It was a hee ha! It was the WAILING WINEMAKER'S event at the Pine Street Saloon in Paso Robles!

Ok, we know they can make wine, but can they sing? Hell ya, they can! Winemakers came out, all in good fun to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. So here are the details:

So here's a photo of the Pine Street Saloon bar, a true old bar in the truest sense of the word. Built in 1887, there are legends that Jesse James and his gang hung out there. It was even used as a brothel for many years - ooo la la!

So there was a big contest. each of the contestants had to sing a karaoke song and at the end, the crowd choose who was the winner.  During it all there was a fabulous silent auction as well as a raffle going on - all to raise $$ for a good cause.

To start off the night, I had to get a photo with the fabulous Bobby Fox, as well as my friend Katie from Cypher and my friend Michelle from 15 Degrees C. Aren't they all fabulous?

So first in the line up: Mitch from Donati Vineyards. Don't you love his outfit? Sexy man, he is. He sang the song, "Whisky Bar" and had us cracking up. The whole thing was fabulous.

Next in the lineup was Josh, Jake and the whole crew from Chronic Cellars. They sang the song, "I Love this Bar" and did a hell of a job. The girls sure looked gorgeous with all of their "Sweet Petite" tank tops :) (which you can purchase from the Chronic website, of course.)

Now on to my good friends, Michelle and Stew from Paso Garagiste. They will be holing an event in Paso Later this year focusing on all of the "garage" winemakers in Paso - meaning folks that do 500 cases or less. The cute couple sang the song, "Jackson" by Johnny & June Cash. Too cute and too sweet!

Sting reincarnated! That's what I call Jason from Arroyo Robles wines. He nailed the song, "Message in a Bottle." It was insane! H really got the crowd going and set a whole new level of energy for the night. He truly has an amazing voice. Here he is, all focused, singing his heart out:

And because we could only stay for the first round, Lisa from Ortman Wines was the finale for me. Woo hoo - this girl can rap! I can't believe how fast the words flew from her mouth. How on earth can she do that? She had all the words down of the song, "Do the Hump"as well as all the moves. Later she jokingly said that she loves to listen to rap, and tells her kids that they can listen - but they can't repeat the words! Too funny :) Here is the rapper girl:

And because this whole evening was really put together by the Ortmans (who love karaoke, by the way) I had to get a shot of Lisa and her amazing winemaker husband, Matt Ortman. They were here to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society for personal reasons. Great jobs, you guys! You not only got the wine community of Paso Robles together but you got us out for an amazing cause. Kudos to you!

In the end, I heard that all the folks from Chronic Cellars came out to do the song, "Jump Around." It was the mob mentality of craziness that got everyone going - and of course they won! I need to get a photo of their fabulous trophy - coming soon. But can we do another fundraiser again soon???? It was too fun :)
